Our Small Business Story in the Coffs Harbour Region

Beatties Quality Furniture was founded in 1983 by Elizabeth and Alan Beattie and their daughter Joanne after they sold their sheep and wheat farm in Parkes New South Wales. They spent about six months looking for the perfect coastal town, eventually settling in Nambucca Heads. As the quiet of retirement began to lose its charm, their passion for quality furniture inspired them to start a business. Taking a bold step, they acquired a small shop on the main street of Nambucca Heads and filled it with a selection of furniture. The business flourished, leading to the addition of another storefront. In 1987, Beatties Quality Furniture moved to its current location, conveniently situated near the highway and easily accessible from both Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.

Elizabeth and Alan have retired to Sapphire Beach, and their son Michael with his wife Kathy now runs the business with the same passion as his parents. Their strong values of honesty and a "helping your neighbours" attitude, common in the farming community, still shows in the service offered by this family-owned and run business.

Beatties Quality Furniture will assist you by offering free delivery to Nambucca Heads, Woolgoolga, Coffs Harbour Region, Kempsey, Dorrigo and Port Macquarie. Delivery outside our free delivery area from Lismore and Bryon Bay in the north to Taree and Forster in the south is also available. We will also remove your old furniture or mattresses and our own friendly delivery team will rearrange the furniture in your home as part of their service.
